Hi, I'm Libby AKA The Magpie.

I've always been a strong advocate for small independent businesses and shopping small wherever I can, and buying artworks and items from actual makers as much as possible.

In lockdown 2021, I made it my mission to try and support all these makers who bring me such joy online, by buying from them and spreading the word in a time where physical markets weren't allowed.

When my husband said to me that I didn't have the space or money to keep doing this, I turned it into a business! And there was Magpie and the Mob!

I found it difficult to discover new makers online as my normal websites became saturated, and it has only become more challenging for makers themselves since. That's why I've made sure that every part of Magpie and the Mob is stocked by other small businesses as much as possible; from the actual stock, the packaging, the marketing, everything!
